UAE denies rumors of lifetime Golden Visa for select nationalities

The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Ports Security (ICP)of the United Arab Emirates dismissed rumors circulating in local and international media regarding the UAE offering a lifetime Golden Visa to certain nationalities.

In a statement released on Tuesday, July 8, the ICP clarified that “all UAE Golden Visa applications are managed exclusively through official government channels within the country,” and emphasized that no internal or external advisory body is authorized to process applications.

“The categories, conditions, and controls of the Golden Residence are determined in accordance with UAE laws, regulations, and official ministerial decisions,” the ICP added. It further stated that individuals interested in understanding the requirements for the UAE Golden Visa can find them on the ICP’s official website or through its smart application.

The ICP also noted that it had recently observed press releases from a consulting firm abroad suggesting that a “lifetime UAE Golden Visa” could be applied for. Several Indian media outlets and a few UAE-based entities published this press release, which the ICP called “unsupported by law” and “not authorized by the competent authorities in the UAE.”

Khaleej Times refrained from publishing the news and promptly sought an official statement from the ICP.

In its response, the ICP reaffirmed its commitment to providing a transparent and secure environment for customers. “We are working to enhance transparency and continuously update our services through official digital platforms,” the statement read.

The ICP did not disclose the source of the unverified press release but warned that legal action would be pursued against those responsible for spreading these rumors. The statement accused these entities of exploiting individuals’ hopes and ambitions for a better life in the UAE in an attempt to make money.
